Our Story
Welcome to Marathon Display Frames – built by runners, for runners. We're Owen Walker and Reece Barnes, two mates from the Gold Coast who started this company with one simple goal: to help runners celebrate their achievements properly.
One of us had always wanted to run a marathon, and in 2023 did just that by running the Gold Coast Marathon in Australia. Crossing the finish line was a huge personal achievement, and the natural next step was to display the medal and bib on the wall at home as a reminder of the day.
That's when we ran into a few problems (no pun intended):
- We couldn't find a frame that we liked.
- The event organisers didn't seem to sell a frame specifically designed for that event.
- We didn't know if any of the cheap frames we found online would even fit the medal and bib — let alone be good quality.
And with each race having different sizes, it was frustrating not to find a simple solution. That's what led us to create Marathon Display Frames. We wanted to design frames that are not only stylish but also versatile enough to fit any medal or bib, no matter the race.
Our goal is to help runners like you preserve and showcase your hard-earned accomplishments in a way that's as unique as the journey itself — a high-quality, event-branded way to display your medal with pride. So we built it.
Why we're different
At Marathon Display Frames, we design and produce every product in-house. Our display frames aren't generic or poor quality. More importantly, we wanted them to be officially event-branded and made locally to the runner. Whether produced in Australia, Europe, or the US, each frame is crafted by skilled custom framers to match the look and feel of the marathon it celebrates. We care about the detail because we know what that medal means to you.
