When ordering a Large or Small frame, you'll need to choose between a Round and Non-Round medal opening. Here's how to decide.
Round medal opening
The round opening is designed for circular medals — the standard shape for most marathon and running events. If your medal is a simple circle (even with details cut into the edge), the round opening will fit it perfectly.
Non-Round medal opening
The non-round opening is larger and accommodates medals with unusual shapes — stars, shields, hexagons, intricate cut-out designs, or oversized medals. It also works for round medals, so if you're unsure, go non-round.
How to check
- ✓Hold your medal up to the light
- ✓If the outer edge is a clean circle → Round opening
- ✓If the edge has unusual cutouts, points, or a non-circular outline → Non-Round opening
- ✓When in doubt → Non-Round (it works for both)
You can also contact us with the name of your race and we'll confirm which opening you need.
